I would like to invite your son to participate in the 8th season of Flag Football at GAC. Flag Football is a great way to introduce your son to the game of football and to the Spartan Football program. He will have the opportunity to play with his classmates in a fast-paced, action-packed environment where everyone will have the opportunity to play several different positions. The competition is age-appropriate and sportsmanship is highly valued. Physical contact is only incidental as players attempt to grab flags.
Registration is open to rising 4th, 5th, and 6th graders May 18 through July 10. Every player must complete the online registration. The fee of $95 covers the cost of a team jersey, officiating, and other related costs. There is no need to submit payment at this time, as you will be billed through the student accounts office in the fall.
We will hold evaluations and assign teams during the first week of school (week of August 13). Practices will begin during the second week of school (week of August 20) and teams will be limited to one practice per week (Monday or Thursday). Games will be played on Saturday mornings starting after a week or two of practice and the season will end in mid-October with a round-robin tournament. Please complete the GAC waiver form and bring it to the evaluations in August. More detailed information will be communicated to registered players throughout the summer.
Spartan Flag Football relies on parents to coach and help administrate the season. We have a long tradition of strong parent involvement in helping these young men learn to love this great game. If you are interested in coaching one of the teams or taking on a leadership role in the league, please make a note of it on the registration form.
