GAC Student Directories

The PTO sponsors the printing of the GAC Student Directory each year. A printed directory will be included with membership for those families joining the PTO for the 2013-14 school year.

Parent-to-Parent Promise

Each school year, the PTO sponsors the Parent-to-Parent Promise for parents of students in 6th through 12th grades  that helps facilitate open, supportive communication among parents and to minimize the opportunity for our children to participate in unsafe and/or illegal behavior.

 Welcome Committee

Current GAC families welcome new students and their families and facilitates their transition to the GAC community. If your family is interested in being part of the Welcome Committee, please contact Becky Martin in Admissions.




Guest Speakers

The PTO sponsors guest speakers each year to educate and inform students, families, and the local community.







Programs

The PTO sponsors special programs throughout the year that provide opportunities for GAC parents and their children to learn and have fun together.





Mini Grants

Each spring PTO Mini Grants are awarded to GAC faculty to fund special requests that enhance classroom learning. Grant requests are submitted by teachers after a principal review and then the PTO Board selects the recipients. Previous PTO mini grant awards have provided:
       Early Childhood Village: Multi-sensory learning tables and training
       Elementary: ActivBoards for classrooms
       Junior High: Pottery Wheels for Art department
       Senior High: Interwrite Tablet for Math department





Teacher Treats

PTO volunteers provide lunch and special treats for GAC faculty and staff on certain “Teacher Appreciation” days during the school year.




Birthday Cards

Each year the PTO sponsors the GAC Faculty Birthday card. Artwork for the card is selected each year from a collection of GAC student art.
