Undefeated Spartans Clinch AA State Basketball Title Again

Congratulations to the Spartan Boys Basketball team for their exciting 58-55 victory over Calhoun in the AA State Finals on Friday in Macon. This marks the 4th state title in 5 years for Coach Eddie Martin. The Spartans were led on the court by senior Isaiah Wilkins with 29 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocked shots. Read More

Spartans Take the Court for State Championship Title

Coach Eddie Martin's boys basketball team goes for their 2nd consecutive AA State Championship (and the 4th in the past 5 years) this Friday, March 7 at 4:45PM in the Macon Centreplex. The Spartans will face Calhoun for the title. The Yellow Jackets are Region 7AA champions and have a 24-2 overall record. The Spartans are 31-0 and are currently ranked as the #1 team in all classifications in Georgia and the #13 team in the nation by USA Today. Read More

Hannah O'Hara was recognized by the faculty as GAC's 2014 STAR Student. Hannah has the highest SAT scores in the senior class at GAC. With this honor, the STAR Student identifies the faculty member who has been most influential in their education. Spelling Bee Buzzes into Elementary
February 21, 2014 
Top spellers in grades 3-5 competed in the Elementary Spelling Bee and were supported by their classmates, teachers, and family. Eight students from each grade were asked to spell words in front of their peers that would require most of us to Google the correct spellings. This year's top award goes to 4th grader Alex Hermosillo. Way to go spellers!

GAC's "Cyber School" Allows School Days to Go On

Classes are being held via a web-based communication portal, Haiku, where students from 1st to 12th grade, access assignments from wherever they are and communicate directly with their teachers. Tick...Tick...It's 2014. I've been pondering some lately on legacy. Not my own, of course - I'm much too young to think about that, aren't you? But the recent passing and the declining health of some early GAC servant-leaders, faculty and staff have reminded me about transience of our time here. I'm not bemoaning it all, mind you. It just prompts us to consider meaningful, lasting difference, and not chase, as Andy Warhol said "15 minutes of fame." Read More
