a home for hurting little ones, where “a cup of cold water” is given in Jesus’ name. This story of rescue has been written for over 40 years. It began in 1970 as a labor of love by concerned Christians in California. All of the children have a story. Some are true orphans. Others have a loving parent but are too impoverished to care for them. Many have been beaten, starved, brought up in drug dens or were unwanted and abandoned.
All of these children share the same sense of urgency – to love and be loved by Christians and to feel the compassion of God’s people. Our mission will be to be a friend and example of Jesus to a child. Our hugs and attention may be the love that helps heal a broken heart.
We will fly into San Diego, CA, and then take a 2 hour charter bus ride down to the City of Children.
We will stay in the “American dorms”. They are very basic but clean and adequate. Sleeping bags or bedding are necessary. We will eat in the “American kitchen/cafeteria” where we will prepare our own meals to share with the children and staff at the City of Children.
The trip cost is $950. All checks should be made to “GACS”
