2013 Schedule
Game 1 – GAC 34 Stone Mountain 20 The Spartans opened the 2012 season with a strong win over Stone Mountain (AAAA) in front of a large crowd at Spartan Stadium.
Game 2 - GAC 31 Savannah 7 GAC improved their record to 2-0 with a solid victory over the Savannah Bluejackets (AAA).
Game 3 – GAC 31 Apalachee 21 The Spartans won their first road game of the year with a great team win over the Aplalachee Wildcats (AAAAA).
Game 4 – GAC 24 Chamblee 27 (OT) The Spartans suffered their first defeat of the season, losing to the Chamblee Bulldogs (AAAA) in a hard-fought overtime game.
Game 5 - GAC 42 Howard School 20 The Spartans were fueled by a strong passing attack as they claimed their 4th win of the year with a victory over The Howard School in Chattanooga Tennessee.
Game 6 - GAC 27 Thomson 36 Hosting the second ranked team in AAA, the Spartans were defeated by the Thomson Bulldogs 36-27 in a hard-fought contest.
Game 7 - GAC 30 Westminster 0 The Spartans opened Region 6-AA region play with a convincing win over Westminster. The defense recorded its first shutout of the season in front of a supportive Homecoming crowd. The game was shown throughout the state on Georgia Public Broadcasting.
Game 8 - GAC 38 Hapeville 20 The Spartans earned their second Region 6-AA win with a victory at Hapeville, pushing their overall record to 6-2.
Game 9 - GAC 42 Wesleyan 20 The Spartans moved their record to 3-0 in Region play and 7-2 overall with a strong win over Wesleyan. The game was a renewal of an old rivalry as it marked the first time the two Norcross schools had met on the gridiron since 2007.
Game 10 - GAC 30 Lovett 31 The Spartans suffered a disappointing defeat in a hard-fought battle in the Region 6-AA Championship Game.
Round 1 of State Playoffs - GAC 35 Model 6 Powered by a stout defense, the Spartans defeated visiting Model from Region 7-AA in 1st Round playoff contest.
Round 2 of State Playoffs- GAC 52 Heard County 21 The Spartans won their 2nd round GHSA playoff game at Heard County (Region 5-AA) as they were led by an explosive offensive performance.
Round 3 of State Playoffs - GAC 27 Early County 24 Winning on a field goal on the last play of the game, the Spartans earned a 3rd Round victory over a talent team from Early County (Region 1-AA). This will mark the first time the Spartan have advanced to Round 4 since 2002.
Congratulations to senior running back Kyle Scales for being selected as the Gwinnett County Offensive Player of the Week for rushing for 234 yards and 4 touchdowns against Apalachee. Kyle has also been named the running back of the week by the Touchdown Club of Atlanta. Also named to the Honor Roll by the Gwinnett Daily Post this week are Micah Abernathy, Andrew Bartolomei, Britt Lee, Ross Wood and Paul Carothers.
