Writing an introduction to our program for the web site each year is something I love to do.
It may not be the flashiest of my duties, nor the most exciting, but I love it nonetheless.
As soon as I finish introducing readers to the program I sit back and read what I've written,
and from that point, the fever to begin the season intensifies as the day draws near for our first practice.
For me that means my dreams are invaded by softball, contact emails, more dreams of softball,
paperwork, budget calculations, more softball dreams, planning,
watching videos, and studying charts. Did I mention dreaming about softball?
Although each of these tasks is important, the most important thing I do among
the required tasks is something that isn't required. I pray for these players and coaches.
I pray that no matter what happens on the field we won't forget
that softball is merely a "cart" to carry us during our mission. I pray that we will use the skills God
has given us, and that our work ethic will be second to none, and when we walk
off the field after each practice and game that our amazing Master and King
will have been glorified through it all. To me, that sounds like an opportunity
that is too good to pass up!
If you are new to GAC and you would like to know more about the softball mission,
just email me, and I'll be happy to answer your questions. If you want to sign-up
to be a part of our program, go to the announcements page and click on the link.
Fall try-out and practice times are on the softball calendar.
