Yoga focuses on stretching, breathing, muscle contractions, and balance. It focuses on the lower back, abdomen and “centering” that will help prevent back pain and allow the student to enjoy the strength and flexibility that this discipline offers. Hatha yoga, the yoga of physical well-being is about 1000 years old was developed in the ninth century. Although it exercises both body and mind, Hatha yoga techniques are intended to rejuvenate and bring into balance all bodily systems: muscular, skeletal, respiratory, circulatory, digestive, nervous, endocrine and immune.
