Jr. High Drama Class The class is open to 7th and 8th grade students. Since it is a performance based class, it may be taken multiple times by students who have room in their schedules. The class focuses on all aspects of producing plays, and each semester a play is produced by this class.
Students develop basic skills in voice and physical acting as they learn and work on the following:
Acting - Scene work, monologues, and ensemble
Basic of Technical Theater – Set, Costume, Properties, Lighting, and Sound
Publicity
Auditioning
Our department produces one musical play each year in the fall with auditions open to all Jr. High students. Rehearsals for this play are held after school hours. In the spring we have a special production cast entirely from our 6th grade students.
