The November/December edition of the Southwest Gwinnett Magazine holds a few familiar faces. Each year, Southwest Gwinnett Magazine chooses twenty to twenty-one individuals under the age of twenty-one who were nominated to be featured. This year, four GAC students were chosen to be featured.

Congratulations to our Varsity Volleyball program for clinching a first round victory over Fellowship Christian School. The Spartans swept the Paladins 3-0 to advance to the Sweet Sixteen.
Congratulations to our Varsity Softball team for reaching the Sweet 16! The Spartans dominated in the first round of the state playoffs, sweeping Christian Heritage with a 17-2 win in Game 1 and a 12-6 victory in Game 2.
Current GAC seventh grader Arielle Urquhart recently earned the title of Miss USA Ambassador for the Pre-Teen Division (ages 10 to 12), along with various other honors recognized at this national pageant. As a charity-driven organization, the USA Ambassador Pageant encourages contestants and their families to embrace their roles as ambassadors for their communities. Grounded in principles of leadership, integrity, confidence, and character, the eight women holding USA Ambassador titles are challenged to embody these ideals.
On September 12th, GAC's Varsity Volleyball team dedicated their match to the incredible Kristy Shelton, who has faithfully served Greater Atlanta Christian for an amazing 43 years.
Greater Atlanta Christian School (GAC) is excited to share a new initiative implemented this fall to further support student well-being and academic focus by creating a more phone-free environment. Building on our existing schoolwide phone-free policy, which required students to keep their devices powered off and stored in backpacks, students in grades 6-12 now store their cell phones and smartwatches in school-issued Yondr Pouches.
Two actors had an unlikely connection in a summer performance at the Lionheart Theatre in Norcross: Greater Atlanta Christian School. This summer, a local theatre company performed “The Enchanted Bookshop,” a heartwarming story about the power of literature and imagination. From Dorothy to Robin Hood to Tom Sawyer, this play focuses on a fictional story of our favorite childhood characters coming to life. In the play, these characters are faced with helping save their bookstore or protecting their own existence. Eighteen actors of all ages (9-50+) worked together to create a family-friendly story that touched the hearts of all who attended.
The GAC Athletic Department is happy to announce a new Athletic Hall of Fame Class will be inducted this Fall. The GAC Athletic Hall of Fame was created to recognize the outstanding athletic accomplishments of GAC alumni. The first GAC Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony occurred in January of 1999. Since that time, there have been three additional inductions. These induction ceremonies occurred in 2004, 2009, and 2014.

This facility hosts two indoor tennis courts, an array of basketball goals, multiple dance studios upstairs in the building, and a gym for faculty/staff to utilize. The versatility of the Bradford Center has truly been a blessing to GAC throughout its history.
Known as the "family room" for the GAC community and located in the center of campus, the beautiful 31,000 square foot facility is one of the most active buildings on campus. The main floor includes the Grandparent Commons, GAC Spartan Store, Wista Worthen Meeting Room, and the Admissions Office. The President’s Office is located on the second floor as well as several classrooms. The building is named for the school’s second president, Dr. David L. Fincher.
Strickland Plaza is nestled between the Middle and High School buildings and Liles Media Center and serves as the main outdoor gathering space for our students. Named after the Strickland family, this space adjoins with the Cross Tower which stands at the heart of campus and is a daily reminder of our purpose and to whom we belong. The Cross Tower includes an area for worship and baptisms. Located beside the Cross Tower, this versatile outdoor venue includes a raised platform and gathering space for up to 200 students and teachers for educational discussions, student performances, special speakers, and concerts.
The Long Forum serves as home court for the Spartan Basketball and Spartan Volleyball teams. The 80,000 sq. ft. state-of-the art, multi-purpose venue can seat up to 3,200 guests for chapels, concerts, athletic and many other special events. The Athletic Office is located on the main floor. The Jesse & Marilyn Long Forum was opened in 2009 and was named in honor of GAC founder and Chancellor, Jesse Long and his wife Marilyn.
