2024 GHSA 5A State Meet: Varsity Girls Track & Field Places Fifth Overall and GAC Wins Four State Championships

The GAC Varsity Track and Field team competed the 2024 GHSA AAAAA State Meet from May 9th-11th at Carrollton High School. Led by head coach Brad Kinser, the Spartans won four state championships. The Varsity Girls team finished with 42 points overall, which landed them in fifth place. The Varsity Boys team finished in the Top-15, landing at 13th overall. 

Individual Performances: 

  • Ava Kitchings (Sophomore) won the 5A Long Jump State Championship with a new personal and school record distance of 20'6. This placed 7th all-time and currently number first overall in the state of Georgia for all classifications. 
  • Skylar Cunningham (Freshman) finished first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.89 seconds. She narrowly was the runner-up in the 200 at 24.10.
  • Gabe Daniels (Junior) won a state championship in the 200-meter dash (21.36) and finished in third place in the 100 (10.74). 
  • Jaden Henry (Junior) came through for a sixth-place finish in the 100-meter dash (11.05).

GAC’s 400-meter relay team consisting of Kelsey Bailey, Jaci George, Ivy Holland and Madison Jamison placed first overall with a time of 46.74. The 800-meter relay placed fifth (1:42.36).
