Congratulations to Jason Kim (GAC Class of 2023) for being named as the “AJC Athlete of the Year” for boys tennis. Jason helped lead the Varsity Boys Tennis Team to the 2023 AAAAA State Championship. This was GAC’s first title since 2015. 

The Spartans faced Chattahoochee High School in the state title match. Jason won the clinching point with a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 1 singles.

Throughout the season, Jason Kim only lost one match to a player from the state of Georgia, and he has already accepted an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy where he will continue to play tennis.

“Jason has set the bar for our tennis program.  He is immensely talented and is matched with his hard work ethic, mental toughness and team leadership.  His singles matches were the clinching points in our wins against Westminster and Chattahoochee for our Region championship and State Championship.  He will do well next year playing for the Naval Academy," said Varsity Boys Tennis Head Coach Brett Harte.
