Arielle Urquhart, current GAC seventh grader, wins Miss USA Ambassador Pageant

Current GAC seventh grader Arielle Urquhart recently earned the title of Miss USA Ambassador for the Pre-Teen Division (ages 10 to 12), along with various other honors recognized at this national pageant. As a charity-driven organization, the USA Ambassador Pageant encourages contestants and their families to embrace their roles as ambassadors for their communities. Grounded in principles of leadership, integrity, confidence, and character, the eight women holding USA Ambassador titles are challenged to embody these ideals.

As UGA Ambassador Pre-teen, Arielle has the responsibility to be an active member of her community and serve individuals and/or families in need. This responsibility is familiar to her, as she has had a passion for community service from a young age. Much of her free time is spent at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, where she has volunteered for several years. Arielle is also the founder of her own nonprofit organization, Arielle’s Angels.

"I've been doing community service before I won the title - I started when I was about 6 years old with my nonprofit, Arielle's Angels.” Arielle Urquhart

Her passion for community service intensified after a life-threatening car accident four years ago. Arielle suffered severe spinal injuries and was considered internally decapitated. She spent considerable time at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, undergoing surgery and extensive therapy. In a miraculous turn of events, Arielle survived a condition that typically claims the lives of 50% of those affected. Rather than turning inward after such a traumatic experience, Arielle redirected her energy toward her community. She continued volunteering at CHOA and other organizations, inspired by the support she received during the most frightening period of her life. This year, Children’s Miracle Network recognized Arielle as a “Miracle Kid,” opening even more doors for her to serve.

We are proud of Arielle for this recent accomplishment of winning USA Ambassador, but we are even more proud of her ongoing passion to serve those in her community.
