On February 5th, the GAC Varsity Boys and Girls swim teams competed in the AAA-A state championship meet at Georgia Tech. The GAC Girls finished in second place with 219 total points, while the GAC Boys finished in 2nd place as well with 260.5 points. The GAC Boys finished in fourth place last season. Junior Trey Carter helped lead the boys as he was state runner-up in the 500-yard freestyle (4 minutes, 34.34 seconds) and fourth in the 200 free (1:40.62). Carter along with seniors Davis Keller and Alex Winsness, and junior Parker Wagnon, also set a school record time in the 200 free relay (1:27:02).
The GAC girls got two, top-eight finishes each from senior Katharine Alsobrook, senior Mitsue Ostapiuk and junior Rachel Todebush. Junior Jenna Jackovich was also a state runner-up on the 200-medley relay (1:51.12) and on a third-place 200 free relay (1:41.02).
