Darius Slayton is Named as a Walter Payton "NFL Man of the Year" Nominee

We are proud to celebrate Darius Slayton, wide receiver for the New York Giants, for being named a nominee for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award presented by Nationwide! This prestigious honor recognizes NFL players for their excellence on and off the field, showcasing their leadership, service, and commitment to making a positive impact in their communities.

One example of Darius’s commitment to giving back is the Slayton Skillz Camp, which he hosts each summer at Spartan Stadium, free of charge to the community. Through this camp, Darius provides young athletes with the opportunity to learn football fundamentals while also fostering personal growth, teamwork, and confidence.

Darius, your efforts to uplift and inspire others reflect the true Spartan spirit, and we couldn’t be prouder of the example you set for others to follow. From your record-breaking days at GAC to excelling on the NFL stage, your heart for giving back continues to shine.

The winner of this award will receive up to a $265,000 donation to the charity of their choice, while all 32 nominees will earn up to $55,000 for their chosen causes. The recipient will be announced live at NFL Honors on Thursday, February 6, at 9 p.m. EST on FOX.
