On July 1, Dr. Scott Harsh will become GAC’s third president. While he will be new to this role, he is not new to GAC. He has served for the past 22 years as a math teacher, wrestling coach, Dean of Students, HS Principal, and VP of Academic Affairs at GAC. “The love and wholehearted commitment to GAC has become a blazing fire in his life,” said current GAC President Dr. David Fincher.
A persistent and humble leader, Dr. Harsh is admired by his colleagues for his eagerness to learn and his ability to focus on others and the school’s mission.
“I want GAC to continue to be an exceptional Christ-centered school committed to excellence in academics, the arts, and athletics…I am still a teacher and coach at heart. I remember what matters in the classroom. This is where the most important work on our campus happens,” Dr. Harsh said.
While he has many ideas and great energy and passion for the future, Dr. Harsh reminds us that the course of GAC will not be altered by this transition. He is working toward continuity and building upon the great successes of the past. “I am confident God will continue to reveal His plans for His school. Let’s go forward together,” Dr. Harsh urged the Spartan community.
