GAC Hires Ryan Millhof As The New Head Wrestling Coach

After coaching for 25 years at Greater Atlanta Christian school, Jeff Harsh is stepping down from his role as the head coach of GAC’s Varsity Wrestling Team. Coach Harsh represented GAC’s Wrestling program with class and dignity. He invested in his wrestlers both on and off the mat, instilling in them invaluable life lessons that will last for years. The GAC community is grateful for Jeff Harsh’s dedication in helping build and shape the Spartan wrestling program.

In light of this departure, GAC Athletic Director Tim Hardy worked to find a new head coach. He alongside the entire GAC Athletic Department are happy to announce that Ryan Millhof has been named as the new Head Wrestling coach at GAC.

“I am excited to announce that we have selected Ryan Millhof as our new Head Wrestling Coach. Ryan Millhof embodies the characteristics we want in a head coach at GAC.  First, he has a strong Christian faith that guides his daily life.  Second, he loves Wrestling and has trained and competed at the highest level.  He had an amazing high school and collegiate career on the mat, mentored by some of the very best coaches in the country.  He has a desire to draw on those formative experiences as he invests in his athletes. Third, he has a passion for using wrestling to develop young men as people, as well as wrestlers.  Finally, he has a clear vision for the future of Spartan Wrestling. We are excited to have Coach Millhof as our new Head Wrestling Coach at GAC,” said GAC Athletic Director Tim Hardy.

Ryan Millhof brings a wealth of experience over the course of his career. For the past four seasons, Millhof served as the Head Wrestling Coach at Collins Hill High School. Prior to his tenure at Collins Hill, Millhof served as an assistant coach at South Forsyth High School. At the collegiate level, Millhof showcased his prowess on the mat, having wrestled at both Oklahoma State University and at Arizona State University. During his collegiate career, Millhof was named as an  2016 NCAA Division I All-American, clinched the 2016 Big 12 Conference Championship, and he qualified for the NCAA Division I Nationals three times. Millhof's success goes back to his high school career at Collins Hill, where he secured three Georgia State Championship titles and amassed an impressive record of 207-7. In addition, his high school career is complemented by four NHSCA Championship victories and two Super 32 Championship titles.

"First and foremost, I want to thank my alma mater, Collins Hill, for taking a chance and believing in a then, very young coach. It has been nothing short of an absolute honor to have had the privilege to coach at such a place. I will forever be grateful for the time that I have spent with the students, teachers, and community. I will forever cherish the memories and the relationships that have been built in the past four years. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who has been a part of the process,” said head coach Ryan Millhof.

“I am thrilled to be able to have the opportunity to coach at such a special place like Greater Atlanta Christian school. I look forward to getting to know each and every student-athlete and helping them pursue their ultimate goals and reach their full potential. It is even more of an honor that I get the opportunity to guide these young athletes on the mat and in their relationship with Christ. GAC is an outstanding school with a very special environment. I believe that with the support of the administration, community, and staff, GAC wrestling will be on the rise. I cannot wait to start getting to work and play a role in producing some amazing results. Go Spartans!"
