Greater Atlanta Christian has been recognized as the top overall athletic program in Class 3A-A Private in the inaugural AJC Varsity All-Sports Standings, a statewide ranking system designed to celebrate excellence across all GHSA sports.

Modeled after collegiate all-sports competitions, the AJC Varsity standings evaluate success across 31 GHSA sports, rewarding schools for postseason achievement while accounting for sport participation and championship opportunities. Each school's final score is determined by its top boys programs, top girls programs, and best additional finish regardless of gender.

GAC finished with 1,640 points to claim the Class 3A-A Private title after an impressive spring season. The Spartans entered the spring championships trailing Hebron Christian by 69.6 points but rallied behind a state championship in Boys Tennis and top-five finishes in six additional sports to secure the top spot.

The competition remained tight until the end, with GAC holding off challenges from Wesleyan, Hebron Christian, and Holy Innocents' to win the classification by just 6.9 points.

Beyond leading Class 3A-A Private, GAC also finished No. 3 overall among all GHSA athletic programs statewide, trailing only Marist and Buford.

The honor caps a remarkable 2025-26 school year that included four state championships and numerous region, state, and national accomplishments across Spartan Athletics.

"The success we experienced this year is the result of coaches who invest deeply in young people and student-athletes who work hard, support one another, and represent GAC in a first-class manner," said GAC Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Tim Hardy. "We are grateful for what they accomplished and proud of how they accomplished it."
