The GAC Symphonic Band showcased their exceptional talent and musical prowess at the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) District 13 Large Group Performance Evaluation (LGPE) held at Paul Duke High School. This esteemed event brought together schools from across the state to be evaluated on their performance and sight reading abilities.
We are thrilled to announce that the GAC Symphonic Band achieved unparalleled success, earning straight superior ratings in both performance and sight reading categories. Furthermore, they received a remarkable total of 50 out of 50 A's, with each sub-category receiving a perfect score.
The LGPE event, while not a contest, serves as a festival and represents the culmination of the first nine weeks of the semester, providing a summative evaluation for participating schools. The band's exceptional performance demonstrated their outstanding musical abilities and distinction among their peers.
"Our students performed at their very best, behaved appropriately, and conducted themselves at all time in a cooperative and responsible manner," Wally Conrath, Band Director said. "It was a great day to be a Spartan!"
With their unparalleled success at the GMEA District 13 LGPE, the GAC Symphonic Band has solidified their position as a leading musical ensemble in the state. Their dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence have paid off, making the entire GAC community immensely proud.
Congratulations to the GAC Symphonic Band for their remarkable achievement!
