GAC High Performance Tennis: Jason Eigdebion and Londyn McCord Triumph at International Tennis Competitions

Greater Atlanta Christian School is proud to announce that current eighth-grade students Jason Eigdebion and Londyn McCord have both won prestigious international tennis competitions this Fall.

Jason has been selected to participate in the esteemed Les Petits AS, the most prestigious U14 tennis tournament in the world. Jason had an outstanding performance at the Le Petits 🇺🇸 USA Playoff, where he secured the 3rd position. This performance earned Jason an offer to compete in the Les Petits AS. Often hailed as the U14 Junior World Championships, Les Petits AS attracts young tennis talents from across the globe.

Established in 1983, Les Petits AS has been a stage for the emergence of tennis legends, including Rafa Nadal, Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Justine Henin, Kim Clijsters, and Martina Hingis, to name a few. The tournament is the largest sporting event in the region and the world's premier competition in the U14 category. Jason Eigdebion's selection for Les Petits AS is a testament to his exceptional talent and dedication to the sport. The GAC High Performance Tennis Academy allows Jason to train with elite coaches while achieving his academic goals with a hybrid course schedule through GAC's Ethos online classes.

Fellow GAC 8th grade student Londyn McCord and her doubles partner Chukwumelije "Melije" Clarke secured victory in the Girls 14s Doubles category at the Eddie Herr International Championship. The Eddie Herr International Championship, held at the IMG Tennis Academy in Bradenton, Florida, stands as a pinnacle in the junior tennis world.

From November 27th to December 1st, 2023, the academy served as the epicenter for emerging tennis stars, with Londyn McCord (pictured right) facing off against the best junior players worldwide. Their unseeded journey saw them defy the odds, beating the #2 seeded USA team and securing the championship against Sabrina Balderrama (Venezuela) and Oliwia Sybicka (Poland), both #1 players in their countries. Looking ahead, Londyn McCord is set to compete in the Junior Orange Bowl in Coral Gables, Florida, on December 14th.

Scott Hutchinson, the Director of Tennis at GAC, and Carlos Cobos, the Director of High Performance Tennis, both help offer a world-class experience for tennis athletes with state-of-the-art facilities, high-performance tennis coaches, dedicated strength coaches, on-campus athletic trainers, and strong academic teachers.

GAC congratulates both Jason and Londyn on their remarkable achievements and wish them the best as they continue to compete against the world's most promising young tennis players.
