Greater Atlanta Christian School’s One Act production of This Girl Laughs, This Girl Cries, This Girl Does Nothing earned multiple honors last week while competing in the Secondary Schools Festival at the Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC), one of the largest theatre conferences in the nation.

GAC students performed alongside 20 schools representing 10 states across the Southeast. Each participating school was selected as one of the top theatre programs in its state, making the festival a highly competitive and respected showcase of student talent.

The Spartan cast and crew represented GAC with excellence and were recognized with several awards during the festival.

Four GAC students were selected for the SETC All-Star Cast, an honor recognizing outstanding individual performances:

• Ayden Wood
• Lauren Edmunds
• Morganne Shoop
• Lilly Nash

The production also received the Judges’ Choice Award for Outstanding Storytelling, recognizing the strength of the show’s narrative and presentation. Students honored with this award included:

• Ben Hawkins
• Riley Shababy
• Kayley Ward (not pictured)

In addition to these individual recognitions, the cast and crew were named Outstanding Ensemble of the Festival, highlighting the collective strength, collaboration, and performance of the entire company.

The production was also selected as a Finalist for Overall Production, placing GAC among the top five of the 20 schools competing in the festival.

These honors reflect the dedication, creativity, and teamwork of the students involved in the production, as well as the continued strength of GAC’s theatre program. The Spartan community celebrates these students for representing the school so well on a regional stage.
