GAC Varsity Boys Tennis Wins 2026 National High School Tennis Championship

The Greater Atlanta Christian School (GAC) varsity boys tennis team won the 2026 National High School Tennis Championship Powered by USTA & WTN at the USTA National Campus yesterday, claiming the national title against the top high school teams in the country.

The top eight high school teams in the nation were invited to compete, including American Heritage (Fla.), Baylor School (Tenn.), Sidwell Friends School (D.C.), Punahou School (Hawaii), Saint Andrew's School (Fla.), Harvard-Westlake School (Cal.), and McCallie School (Tenn.).

GAC won its pool division by defeating Baylor (5–2), Punahou (5–2), and St. Andrews (7–0) to advance to the championship match against American Heritage, the winner of the opposite pool.

The finals, played on the College Courts at the USTA National Campus, are the same courts that hosted last year’s NCAA Division I Individual Championships.

The team delivered its strongest performance of the tournament under the lights Saturday at 7:00 p.m., clinching a 4–0 victory over the No. 1 seed. Competing in a college format, GAC swept all three doubles matches. Harrison Kemp and Marcello Bisogno won 6–2 at No. 1 doubles, followed by Santi Bisogno and Jason Eigbedion with a 6–3 win at No. 2 doubles. The No. 3 doubles team of Fredy Dougah and Brady Gessner completed the sweep with a 6–2 victory, earning one point for the team.

All six singles matches began simultaneously, with GAC needing three of six wins to secure the title. Senior Marcello Bisogno earned the first singles victory at No. 4 singles with a commanding 6–1, 6–0 performance. Sophomore Brady Gessner followed with a 6–3, 6–1 win at No. 5 singles. Senior Harrison Kemp clinched the championship shortly after with a 6–3, 6–3 victory at No. 1 singles.

At the time of the clinch, GAC led the remaining three matches: Sophomore Jason Eigbedion was ahead 6–2, 5–1 at No. 2 singles; Sophomore Santi Bisogno led 6–2, 3–3 at No. 3 singles; and Junior Freddy Dougah held a 6–2, 3–2 advantage at No. 6 singles.

Seniors Jack Morrison and Alexander Paden and Freshman Simon Dong also contributed to the wins in early matches.

Head coach Brett Harte and assistant coach Scott Hutchinson led the team. Under Coach Harte’s leadership, the boys’ tennis program has reached the pinnacle of success in the GHSA, winning the past three state championships. This year, Harrison Kemp, Jason Eigbedion, Brady Gessner, and Santi Bisogno were all named to the Gwinnett Daily Posts’ “Super Six Boys Tennis Team” marking each individual as one of the best players in Gwinnett County. The Spartans are once again favored to win the state title this season.

Coach Harte attributes a portion of his program’s success to GAC’s dynamic hybrid program. Hybrid learning has helped his team meet the rigors of the classroom while also allowing time for elite-level training. Students pursuing their dreams can find balance through in-person and online academics without sacrificing community and the moments that make school memorable.

Winning the 2026 National High School Tennis Championship marks a significant step forward for the boys’ tennis program and an achievement for GAC. The team delivered dominant performances throughout the tournament against elite competition on one of the sport’s premier stages.

Their success designates GAC as the top high school boys’ tennis team in the nation.
