Onto the Elite Eight! Both Varsity Tennis Teams Reach the Next Round of the Postseason

GAC's Girls and Boys tennis teams are both headed to the Elite Eight after impressive second-round victories in the Class AAA-A Private State Tournament.

The No. 9 seeded Lady Spartans opened the day with a dominant 3-0 sweep over No. 8 seed Lovett on the road. Ella Kemp set the tone early with a strong performance at No. 1 singles to secure the first point for GAC. The doubles teams followed suit, as Kinley Connett and Harper Nguyen earned a hard-fought 7-5, 6-4 victory at No. 2 doubles. Ava Hoover and Veronica Spies clinched the match with a gritty three-set win at No. 1 doubles, sending the Spartans into the Elite Eight.

GAC will now face a tough test, traveling to take on No. 1 overall seed Savannah Country Day in the next round.

On the boys side, the top-seeded Spartans continued their dominant season with a 3-0 sweep over No. 17 seed Weber. Jason Eigbedion and Marcello Bisogno delivered wins at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively, to give GAC early control of the match.

The doubles teams sealed the victory in convincing fashion, with Brady Gessner and Santi Bisogno winning at No. 1 doubles, and Jack Morrison and Ben Hawkins completing the sweep at No. 2 doubles.

The undefeated Spartans will now host No. 9 seed Walker in the Elite Eight as they continue their pursuit of a state championship.

With both programs advancing, GAC tennis continues to showcase its depth, composure, and championship-level play at the most important time of the season.
