GAC fifth graders traveled from GAC to the Chattahoochee River to release the trout our Lower School has been raising in the GAC’s Nasmyth Environmental Center.
Each semester, the entirety of our Lower School watches baby trout grow from eggs to ready-for-the-wild swimmers in the Nasmyth Environmental Learning Center. Our Fifth Grade students witness the full life cycle firsthand as they release the grown trout into the Chattahoochee River to find a life of their own.
During the field trip, members of the Upper Chattahoochee Chapter of Trout Unlimited joined our students at the river. They assisted with the release, led engaging activities, and shared their knowledge about trout and environmental conservation. We’re so grateful for their partnership and the unforgettable experience they helped create for our students.
It was not only an unforgettable learning experience, but also a beautiful reminder of the wonder of God’s creation. Check out the video below for a recap of this fun-filled day!
