The Region 6-AAAAA Basketball Tournament was hosted in the Long Forum throughout the week. Players, coaches, and fans from across the region gathered at GAC to witness a series of competitive games.

Our very own Varsity Girls Basketball team defeated Kell High School 57-45 to claim the Region Championship. Head coach Jessica Guarneri was named as the Region "Coach of the Year." Her team hit the floor hard from the very beginning of the game and never looked back.

Senior guard, Myla Benson, was named as the Region "Player of the Year." She finished the game with 25 points, 12 rebounds and five steals. Freshman point guard, Asia Johnson, added 18 points, six rebounds, four steals and three assists. Johnson was nominated to the First-Team All-Region team. 

The Spartans will now head into the postseason as a one-seed in the playoffs. They will face Calhoun High School in the first round of the playoffs on February 20th at 6 PM.
