Each year, students who complete the summer reading challenge receive a one-of-a-kind shirt. This year, the design was created by GAC sophomore Ella Morrison. Inspired by the challenge’s theme, her constellation artwork is truly out of this world. Having participated in the summer reading challenge throughout Middle School, it became very special to her—so when given the chance to design the shirt, she didn’t think twice.

At every school level, fostering a love of reading is always top of mind. Upper School Media Specialist Bonnie Baker creates opportunities like this not only to strengthen students’ reading skills but also to build camaraderie among those who share a love for reading. Ella is a wonderful example of how programs like this at GAC nurture the whole student and encourage growth both in and beyond the classroom.
