Three Spartans Hit Career Milestones In Their Basketball Careers
Three Spartans Hit Career Milestones In Their Basketball Careers

The boys varsity basketball team (20-5 Overall, 10-5 Region Record) and the girls varsity basketball team (19-5 Overall, 14-0 Region Record) have had successful seasons on the court. Led by head coaches David Eaton and Jessica Guarneri respectively, both teams are entering the postseason with high expectations.

The girls basketball team reached the state finals last year, and the boys reached the second round of the playoffs as well. It takes special players to achieve greatness in the postseason, and the GAC basketball program is home to three stars that have impacted their teams for the better.

Senior guard Kaleigh Addie signed with Xavier University this past Fall, but she is still determined to succeed at the high school level. On February 5th, Kaleigh scored her 2000th career point against Cedar Grove High School. She helped propel the Spartans to a 80-41 victory by leading the team in scoring with 36 points. To close out the regular season, Kaleigh scored 27 points against Douglas High School, and this helped the Spartans clinch the top seed heading into the region tournament.

Kaleigh's teammate and fellow senior guard Jaci Bolden also hit a milestone this season as she scored her 1000th career point on December 10th versus Sandy Creek High School. Jaci's 17-point performance helped lead the Spartans to a 68-35 win over the Patriots. In the final game of the regular season against Douglas High School, Jaci had 23 points and six assists.

For the boys basketball team, senior guard Josh Fulton is coming off of 42-point performance against Douglas High School. The win against the Astros places GAC as the three-seed in the Region tournament. Fulton also was named the 5AAA Region Player of the Year. He scored his 1000th career point on January 25th against the top-seeded Sandy Creek Patriots.
