Two Spartans Continue Their Football Careers on Early Signing Day

December 15th marked the beginning of the Early Signing Period for high school football players across the country. After undergoing the recruitment process for years, players were finally able to sign their letters of intent to the collegiate institutions of their choice.

For the Spartans, we had two signees that were blessed with a multitude of offers to continue their football careers.

Seniors Will Hardy and Addison Nichols decided to sign with the University of North Carolina and the University of Tennessee respectively.

Hardy chose the University of North Carolina over Virginia, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, Boston College and Pittsburgh. This past season, he earned several accolades including GPB All-State Team 2021, Region 5-AAA Defensive Player of the Year, Gwinnett County 1st Team DB, 11 Alive/Born To Compete Player of the Week, and WSB-TV Sports Athlete of the Week. He was also voted a team captain and was named the "Most Respected" player on the team by his peers.

On the season Will Hardy finished with 133 tackles, 8 interceptions (led the state of Georgia), and 1153 All Purpose Yards and 10 touchdowns. Although he played on both sides of the ball in high school, Will is expected to play primarily at safety at UNC.

Addison Nichols will early enroll at the University of Tennessee. He will start practicing with the Volunteers this upcoming January. He choose Tennessee over Georgia, Ohio State, Florida, USC, and UNC. Addison was named to the GPB All-State Team 2021, Region 5-AAA 1st Team offensive line, was selected to play in the All-American Bowl, was Invited to Under Armour All-American Game, named to the Gwinnett Super Six, and was named to the Touchdown Club of Atlanta All-Star Team

Addison is ranked as the #4 Interior OL prospect in the nation (247 Sports) and is one of the Top 150 prospects in the nation (247 Sports and ESPN 300). He was a team captain as well.

Both Will and Addison helped elevate GAC's football program to new heights during their careers as Spartans. We look forward to seeing their future accomplishments at the collegiate level. Hear from both players in our Early Signing Day video below:
