Varsity Boys Basketball Repeats as Region Champions

Congratulations to our Varsity Boys Basketball team for winning the Region 6-AAA title for the second year in a row.

Led by first year head coach Scepter Brownlee, the Spartans defeated Dawson County 62-53 on Friday night. GAC was paced by Adrian Hughes who had 19 points and K.J. Braswell added 11 points on the night. This year, the region tournament took place at Chestatee High School.

The Varsity Girls Basketball team also made the title game, but fell in a close matchup against Pickens 51-48. However, the Varsity Girls stuck around to support the Varsity Boys in their title game.

Overall, it was a great showing for GAC on Friday night.

Up next for both Varsity teams are home playoff matchups, live from the Long Forum. The Varsity Girls will host the Weber School on Tuesday night and the Varsity Boys will host the Mohammed School on Wednesday night.
