The GAC Spartans once again left their mark at the GHSA State Championships. The Varsity Girls Track & Field team captured the 2025 GHSA 1A-3A Private State Championship, while the Varsity Boys delivered several standout performances to finish eighth overall.
A Storied Tradition Continues
This year’s title marks the sixth state championship in the last ten years for the GAC Varsity Girls Track & Field program, continuing a legacy of excellence built on elite talent, relentless work ethic, and a championship mindset. With 114 points, GAC topped Landmark Christian (91) in a dominant performance fueled by depth and speed across multiple events.
Girls Team Highlights:
Skylar Cunningham blazed her way to two gold medals, winning the 100m (11.32) and 200m (23.34) with unmatched speed.
Ava Kitchings added a state title in the Long Jump (20-5.50) while also taking silver in the 100m (11.34) and 200m (23.93).
The Girls 4x100m Relay team of Kelsey Bailey, Cunningham, Jaci George, and Kitchings earned the top podium spot with a blistering 46.31.
The Girls 4x200m Relay (Bailey, Kenedi Smith, George, Madisyn Joseph) brought home silver with a time of 1:43.64.
Sydney Sherrod contributed with a strong silver-medal performance in the 400m (56.83).
Boys Team Standouts:
Gabe Daniels delivered a sprint sweep, claiming gold in both the 100m (10.71) and 200m (21.29).
The Boys 4x100m Relay (Daniels, Jon Tongren, Michael Miller, Michael Carpenter) took silver with a time of 42.55.

The Girls’ sixth state title in the past decade cements the Spartans as one of Georgia’s premier track and field dynasties, while the Boys continue to build momentum with elite individual performances.
