Varsity Head Track & Field Coach Brad Kinser was inducted into the Georgia Track and Field Hall of Fame last week.
Coach Kinser's 41-year coaching journey, spanning six years in Kansas and 35 years at GAC, is marked by a variety of achievements. During his tenure at GAC, Coach Kinser has won 10 state championships. This includes one state title with boys’ track and field, one with boys’ cross country, and eight with girls’ track and field. These championships stretched across four decades and four different classifications—A, AA, AAA, and AAAAA.
The varsity girls track and field team in particular has had a dominant run under Coach Kinser’s leadership, winning the state championship five times in the last seven years. They trophied at the state level in 17 of the last 21 years, achieving first or second place in 13 of those 21 years. Overall, Coach Kinser has coached 89 state champion individuals or relay teams during his career.
Tomy Sitton, Coach Kinser's former track and field teammate at Harding University and GAC alum (Class of 1978), served as Coach Kinser's representative during the induction ceremony.
