The Freeman Aquatic Center was home to the Region 6- 5A Swim Meet for the second year in a row. Head Coach Emily Krug led the GAC Varsity Swim and Dive team to a region championship in 2023, and the Spartans looked to repeat as champions this year.
The Varsity Girls and Boys Swim & Dive teams hit the water and never looked back, as they clinched another region title. The Spartans finished with a combined team score of 1021. Cambridge High School finished in second place with 809 total points.
GAC's Varsity Girls team was paced by junior Abigail Heizer who won the 200 IM and 100 Freestyle. Fellow junior Madeline House took first place in the 200 Freestyle and 500 Freestyle. Senior Rylie Hill won the 50 freestyle, and freshman Abby Sutter took second place in the 100 Butterfly and first in the 100 Backstroke.
The Varsity Boys were led by senior Luke Stanley who won the 100 Breaststroke, and placed second in the 50 Freestyle. Sophomore James Sorensen won the 100 backstroke, and senior Aiden Daniels took second in the 200 Freestyle and third in the 100 Freestyle. Junior Makais Burrough finished in third place in the 50 freestyle and sophomore Richard Vo took 3rd in the 100 Backstroke and 200 Freestyle
