The Varsity Volleyball team had high expectations heading into this season after winning the AAA State Championship last year. With a talent-filled roster and a large amount of experience, the Varsity Volleyball team appeared to be primed for a title-defense despite moving up two classifications to AAAAA. 

However, the Spartans began the season with 3-straight losses and they suffered a few injuries along the way as well. The team was struggling, but they then hit their stride in region play, finishing the regular season 6-0 in region play. The Spartans then defeated Chattahoochee in the Region Championship to clinch one of their team goals. 

During the postseason, GAC turned their play up onto another level as they defeated Jackson Atlanta High School, Cartersville High School, and Statesboro High School by a combined score of 9-2.

This stretch of victories places GAC in the Final Four on Saturday October 29th at 6:30 PM against McIntosh High School. This will be a battle between two top-seeded teams. Tickets for the event are $10 and they can be purchased at the gate with cash or on GoFan here.
